Excellent, spine tingling book...a must have for any library. From the moment that I opened the book, I couldn't put it down...definitely a nail biter and one that keeps you on the edge of your seat. If given the opportunity, any book by this author is great for your personal library. I will definitely be telling all my friends about these books and encouraging them to add them to their library of books...the author is great and definitely knows how to write something that is worth reading!
Listened to this as a podcast. I persevered until it was over. Thankfully that time came. Stretches the imagination too much. Not a satisfying book for me.
Great reading - enjoyed it tremendously - on the subject of how the story was narrated - wasn't real sure how to answer that one so that is why I put "I don't know" - really don't think about that as I am enjoying the book to think about it - keep up the great work and have started on the 3 book series starting with the collector - so far great
Mr. Whittenburg knows how to write a suspense novel that keeps you turning the pages like a monkey hitting a lever for food. The story was surreal. You knew in the back of your mind why and the story did not disappoint, but then how it tied back in was also surreal (in a good way).
What killed the story was the character was not very admirable (which was intentional ... and okay). But the whole thing seemed tied to a right-wing political agenda (I wont' say what as it would spoil it ... but it got to the point it just killed the story). Had the agenda been more subtle, it would have been okay. But when you pound your agenda from beginning to end, you begin to find yourself asking, 'will this story just end?'
My advice ... read the next suspense thriller as this author knows how to keep you turning pages ... but hope they kill the political agenda. It killed an otherwise good story.
